The below letters are just a few of the thanks we have received from happy brides:
"How do I thank you enough for everything you and the band have done to make our day so wonderful? You did such a great job getting everyone out on the dance floor, and I can not tell you how many people have told me you are the best band they have heard! Between your great voice and the horns we could not have asked for anything more! You completely exceeded our expectations and I can’t wait to recommend you to everyone!"
Melissa St. Germaine Hale Sheraton Hotel
"The Crescent City Soul band played for my wedding and were fantastic. The band was extremely accomodating by playing new songs that I requested. The guests all commented on the band and how well they played. Everyone had a great time dancing to the music! I could not have asked for better." Melissa Voltz Pavillion of the Two Sisters
"Sorry it took so long, but I just wanted to thank you all for doing a great job at the wedding. Everyone was asking us where we found ya'll for weeks after because they had so much fun. You all did everything we could have asked for and we really appreciate it. We will definitely recommend ya'll to anybody looking for a band. Thanks again!"
Blake A. Cado The Balcony
"You were fabulous at our wedding on Nov. 1 at the Maison Dupuy! So many people asked how we found you. You played so many good songs. We had such fun dancing and just having fun. Thank you very much for making Carla and Chad's wedding reception so perfect. We'll recommend you to anyone any time. Christie Anderson at the Maison Dupuy said she was putting you on her vendor's list. Take care, and Happy Holiday Season to you."
Barbara Levinson Maison Dupuy
"Hi Wendy
OMG! Tracy and I were so thrilled with "Crescent City Soul"! They were a great band and a great addition to our wedding. So many of our guests commented that the band was the best wedding band they had heard. Everyone was dancing all night and had a blast! As we all know, if the band is no good, the wedding falls flat. Well, our wedding was great! Thanks again!!"
Debbie Ranck Chateau Bourbon
"We just got back from the honeymoon and folks are still talking about how much fun we had! You guys were a big part of that fun. Thanks so much for your energy, professionalism, and talent. It was a blast!"

We believe that the day you get married is one of the most important days of your life, and we treat it that way. We pay attention to every detail to make sure that the music and our performance help to make your special day memorable. We have the ability to do all genres of music, and personally consult with you to tailor the music and other aspects of our performance to suit your personal tastes. We will learn special requests if the song fits the instumentation of the band. We are easy to contact, and easy to work with. Having been a bride myself, I understand how much it means to have things go just the way you want!
Below are answers to a few frequently asked questions:
Do you play ceremonies? What about cocktail music? Second lines? Yes to all of the above! There is no need to hire multiple bands - we are one stop shopping, and can provide ceremony music, cocktail music, party music and second lines, or any combination of the above that you request. This means less headaches and less cost for you!
What if the band is too loud? Fleur de Lis NOLA has three different PA systems, each designed to suit different sized venues. Each PA is of the highest quality, and produces a very "clean" sound without distortion. Often times when you hear a band that hurts your ears it is actually the distortion of the sound from poor quality speakers rather than the volume that causes you pain. We also understand the band is not the focus of the reception - the bride is! We will manage the songs and the volume based on your requests. If you want to start soft and slow and build up to a high level of excitement, we will do that. If you want to come out swinging from the start, we can do that too! We are proud to use highly power efficient speakers and lights, making us a "green" company!
Do you take requests? If we have enough advance time, we can learn songs that fit the instrumentation of the band. In the rare case that we cannot, we will play a MP3 or CD. If a request is made on the job, we have enough talent and experience to reproduce many songs "on the spot". However, we will only do so if we feel comfortable that we can do a good job.
We have people of all ages attending - can you play songs that will please everyone? We pride ourselves on having one of the most diverse song lists of any band in the city. Our list includes a wide assortment of music from various decades and genres, and we will play whatever moves a particular crowd, from classic oldies to today's music.
When will the band start? That is up to you. We will start immediately on time, or play MP3s or CDs until you are ready for your first dance if you would like to be traditional and save the first dance for the bride and groom. If you want us to play live soft background music until you are ready, that is fine too - you make the call. It is your day, and we will do whatever it takes to make you happy!
How many breaks do you take? That depends on a few factors - how long the reception is, and when you want to do special things, like toss the bouquet and garter and cut the cake. We will work closely with you or your planner to coordinate our breaks so that all of the attention will be focused on your during those special moments. Will you make announcements? We will announce whatever you want when you want.
Do you play music on the breaks? Yes, we have an extensive music library and will play MP3 music during breaks. You can request specific songs or make your own MP3 to provide to us to play at breaks, or just let us make the call for you, based on the requests and reactions of your guests.
What do you wear for weddings? We wear tuxes, dark suits, or dressy black clothes - once again, it's your call. The lead singer is also flexible in how she dresses, even coordinating with your colors or the style of your choosing.
Do you have any reccomendations for wedding vendors? We have worked with a number of good people, some of whom you can find on the wedding links page of this site.
Can I contact you if I have questions? I am very easy to contact, and quick to return calls. I know how important it is to get the answers you need when you want them!
Please contact me (Wendy Siegel) at (504)737-6717, or email ccsband@cox.net if you have any other questions.
